New England Clam Chowder Quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 10 3/4 ounce can New England clam chowder

  • 1/2 onion chopped fine

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 4 eggs slightly beaten

  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano

  • 4 to 5 slices American cheese

  • 1 unbaked pie shell

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400°.

  • Mix first 5 ingredients.

  • Pour half of mixture into pie shell and layer the American cheese on top.

  • Then pour in the remaining batter.

  • Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.

  • Reduce heat to 350° and bake for another 45-55 minutes or until center is firm and golden brown.

  • Serve with a salad and a side of rice for a great meal.

  • Replace eggs with egg beaters for a lower fat, low cholesterol meal.
