Low-Cal Scampi (shrimp or scallop)

  • 1 pound scallops or shrimp

  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine

  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine or dry vermouth

  • 2 to 4 cloves garlic minced or 1/2 tsp. dried

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • paprika

  • 1 tablespoon parsley


  • Melt better (or margarine), add to drained scallops, along with the rest of the ingredients.

  • Marinate at least one hour.

  • Preheat broiler.

  • Spread scallops in single layer in shallow broiling pan.

  • Broil 3 to 4” from heat, turning frequently, until cooked (about three to six minute), or this can be stir-fried in large pan (my preference).
