1 1/2 pounds round steaks or leftover beef
4 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons shortening
1 onion thinly sliced
1/4 cup beef stock or bouillon
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
3/4 cup sour cream
1 6 1/2 oz. can mushrooms
Cut meat into strips.
Dust with flour mixed with salt and pepper.
In skillet fry the meat and onion in 2 tablespoons of shortening about 3 minutes.
Add remaining shortening and stir in remaining 1 tablespoon of flour.
Gradually stir in beef stock and cook, stirring until sauce is smooth and thickened.
Stir in mustard, sour cream and mushrooms.
Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour (or until meat is cooked thoroughly and tender).
